Beautiful cars! I had a 1970 280SL, but do not recall wheels like yours being available for our cars. Are those stock too?
You caught me!!! The alloy wheels (6 1/2J X 14) were added later, but are a period correct option for the last 2 years of production (1970 - 1971). I still have the steel rims and colour matched hubcaps.
I was running search patterns on Goggle and found her in of all places, a Chrysler/Jeep dealership in Cleveland. The car had been donated to the Crawford Car Collection in Cleveland where it sat for a number of years. They auctioned it in a fundraiser and the car dealer bought it there and used it as a advertising piece in his showroom. It needed a lot of mechanical work but it was a very rare old Benz with 742 built from 1936 to 41. I found later it was built in the Sindelfingen Plant along with all the very low number production cars including the 500s. This was the custom in-house shop of Daimler Benz.
