It looks like very nice interior wood. Usually they get bleached out by the sun.

Thanks guys

for the encouraging words...the interior has been fully restored, although I'm still trying to locate a period correct radio. Restoring the wood was a tedious and time consuming process, although it was a happy time (mostly from inhaling the varnish fumes, hehehe). She will forever be a work in progress for me, since I do most of the work myself, except for those which I am not equipped to do so.

My 55 220a. Been in the family about 25 years. I stopped driving it a coupla years ago as it was in need of some TLC but as usual life got in the way.

I've now got the space to do something about it so over this winter it will be stripped down for a repaint in spring with the plan to get back on the road next summer.

Now that's a beauty! But I have to wonder what you've been doing for the last year and a half--between your first and second post?

I'd say Welcome a-board! But you've been here a long time...

Jayhawk,
Yes i havent been on this site for a while, just been really busy over the past year...... but im ready to work on the car again... I was wondering, the one thing my SL is missing is a front bar.. Any recomendations on where or which front bar to get? I want a classy but sporty look. Not too fancy to ruin its vintage image.... Thanks, hope you can help...

What "front bar" are you talking about? I assume it isn't the one where you keep the booze...
