How do i remove the starter from my '73 280SEL???

What is the procedure for getting the starter out of my 1973 280 SEL 4.5? It looks like there is not enough room to get it out without taking a bunch of crap apart.

Starter was working fine 2 days ago and now wont even turn. Checked wires for power and all seems well. I think it may be oil in the selenoid. Any suggestions?

By now you have probably figured out that you will need to remove the tie rod and center link to get the starter out. I replaced the starter in my 3.5 coupe and it was a whole day job. A real pain. Make sure to test the new starter before you put every thing back together.
