RE: 1938 170V Cabriolet A
http://www.autogallery.org.ru/mb170v.htm http://www.wttn.com/Property/1938merc/ Should be helpful links to you. I think the second is stating that one was for sale for R250,000...whatever R is? I think in this context it's South African Rand - in that case they are selling it for $36,500 USD if you went to South Africa and bought it now...keep in mind the price to ship it and taxes when entering the US or whatever country. South Africa has lots of these old cars, the rest of the world doesn't. $100,000 USD seems like a great starting point for this car if it's in presentable condition. Who knows...contact that seller maybe he can help you...
I am sorry I can't be more helpful. I know a lot about MB's from the 70's [:)]
I am not sure if eBay would be a good place for this car, it is VERY special interest...considering eBay is full of people that would love to have that car for 5% of it's value...perhaps a high profile live auction would be the place for this...I saw one of them sold last year on one of those high profile auctions on TV.
Traditionally, Mercedes drop tops always go for a good sum and are extremely desirable...more so than sedans.
Anyway, I am talking about a car out of my leaugue...good luck selling it!
