While working on my car the other night I found 3 wires under the hood on the driver's side that have been disconnected by a previous owner. Many mechanics have over looked these wires and the car runs fine without them. However I wonder if it would run even better than it does now if they were re-attached.
So, in short, Does anybody know of, or have wire schematics for the 108 SE engines or their fuel injection pumps? The wires are a ground(brown) with a Black and pink stripe wire wraped together that are bound with the cold start thermostat in the head above the injection pump. And a third wire(green/black) is coming out of the fire wall. All of these wires have factory end connections (loops) for screws and carry some voltage but nothing like a full 12 volts on or off.
All three of these wires can reach the firewall side of the injection pump where it looks like there are 2 solenoids (?) or something of that sort which would accept these wires since there are terminals there but no wires. I wonder if they were not connected in a previous engine swap?
Sorry for the long question, just thought more info better than less. My manual says that the injection pump is for mercedes mechanics only, but i find that to be BS.
