1963 300se won't start

I have a 1963-300se cpe that has been sitting for several years and i cannot get it to start.
1) I have cleaned & gaped both sets of points,
2)I have a good spark,
3) Drained the fuel tank and added fresh fuel,
the fuel pump fuse was cleaned and the pump now runs
4)i have not checked the pressure but some fuel is getting to the injectors.
5) If i use a shot of starting fluid it runs - just long enough to use it up and shuts off.
6)what else should i try?

This is a great old car! After i get it running i need one front air bag and i'm set!

Please advise @ AshleyPac@skybest.com

RE: 1963 300se won't start

Car still not starting?

There is a large solenoid on top of the FI pump which acts as the starting 'choke' by adding more fuel. There is also a cold start valve on the intake manifold, either on the rear of the plenum or the middle of the plenum on the passenger side. There are several relays and thermo time switches on the firewall as well as mounted in the cylinder head. These can be adjusted to make the enrichment solenoid engage during starting.

If these are not properly adjusted the car will have a hard time starting, as I'm sure you have found out. You can also overheat the starter causing further problems. I have some wiring diagrams that might help.

2 plunger or six plunder pump? If it's a two plunger pump, make sure it's not a 220SE pump because the car will not run properly, 2.2 L vs 3.0 L.
