1977 450sl GAS SMELL

I have a strong odor of gas right after filling up that lingers for a few days. No visible leaks. I was told that I have bad gaskets. What are these and where do I get them? Thanks

RE: 1977 450sl GAS SMELL

Try replacing the filler cap gasket. After that try the pump gaskets on top of the tank. Those are the first that come to mind on passenger cabin oder. After that look at the injector rails and make sure there aren't any leaks there.

I am no pro but I hope this helps.
