Hi all - I'm new on here, but hoping for some advice and to learn from other peoples good/bad experiences of swapping Vito parts between older and newer vans.
I want to swap over some bits from my very rusty 2004 Vito 639 Dualiner (LWB) to my newly purchased 2009 Vito crew bus (LWB).
I've had my 2004 111 Dualiner (with 8-seats) for about 2 years, but I finally decided that it was just too rusty to patch up for its MOT - it has other issues too.
So I bought a 2009 Vito 109 639 crew bus (is crew bus that the right term?).
It has windows in the sliding doors, 6 sears, and a load area in the rear.
The 2009 van only has basic interior panels in the back so I was hoping to transfer the complete Dualiner interior (flooring, side panels, roof lining door panels etc) from my old 2004 van. I also would like to put on the remote adjustable mirrors to replace the manual mirrors on the 2009 van.
I assume that the interior will go in ok and that the fixing holes are all still the same for the 2004 and 2009 vans? Anyone got any experience of this?
I am less sure about what is involved in transferring the remote mirrors. I assume that I need to replace the mirrors themselves, the mirror/window switch unit and the door mounted controller box? Will the remaining wiring still be ok?
I have heard very mixed info on whether there will be threaded locations for a 3rd of seat clips under the floor on my later van. The 2004 van has them fitted, but in the original flooring the 2009 van only has the middle row visible.
I am trying to keep the old 2004 Vito mostly complete to some extent so any unwanted bits I take off the 2009 van will go back on to the 2004 van so I can sell it as a working van.
Thanks all - looking forward to hearing what you know.
Tony
