Unhappy Central locking keeps unlocking/locking whilst driving

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help with this issue regarding my 07 plate Vito 115:

Once I reach 10mph+ the central locking locks itself - fine.

Then intermittently, whilst driving, at any random speed, it unlocks itself and then locks again, as it unlocks the door open light appears on the instrument panel and the interior lights come on!! Very distracting at this time of year when we are driving in darkness a lot !!

I had a quick look at the rear door contacts the other night in the semi darkness and the 5 springy finger contacts seem to spring in and out OK - i was going to clean the contact plates that they mate with at the weekend to see if this helps?

Any other ideas?

I've got a gut feeling that it could be some kind of door sensor maybe or a relay in the circuit that is breaking down maybe? I dunno, just guessing !

Cheers,

Rich

Well that depends on your cluster but yes it does, each door has it's own sensor.

as zenman says... not much of a job but it takes time and is awkward.

I attach the relevant PDFs... do not be put off........... mb list everything on a pdf including the blindingly obvious............ read them, print the bits you want and just get on with it

Nice one Malcolm, I have had to abandon my door tonight as I have some how unclipped the window regulator, I now have a rubber wedge holding the glass up!
Any chance on the pdf to put it back together!
I have cables and a white plastic part in my hand!
Gutted.
And this was just to get the latch out!

I suspect you may know the answer.....

just been through the pdfs and this was the only data on 639 front doors and windows..... as usual its only part of whats needed.

I know well about having to give up for a while... my heaters gone and I'm going to swap the unit and resistors from my old 108d...............

problem... it snowed last night, its been below zero all day although in shelter it got to 4c.... and as darkness fell it froze hard.

now I have to use it without blowers... not looking forward to that but I'll probably put my blowlamp in it tomorrow so I can shop... 15kW of blowlamp should warm it enough (it was how I always managed in my series ii landrover (that and taking the roof and screen off when it snowed and driving around london and to the south coast in a ww1 leather flying helmet)

malcolm

when they say "we didn't find anything" after a brain scan... is it good news or bad??????
