Smile Vito 112CD1 DE-MISTING fUNCTION

I have a problem with the windscreen de-misting function on my 2003 Vito Dualiner 112cdi.

All fan speeds and other vent points appear ok but the vents which clear the screen blow virtually no air through - I have checked the operation against another Vito and when correctly set, the vents on this are significantly more forceful. Also, the surface of the dashboard immediately behind the windscreen on my Vito becomes very hot.

Is this likely to be caused by ventilation ducting to these vents becoming dislodged ? or could there be other causes?

If it is dislodged ventilation ducting , how can it be accessed.

Any suggestions appreciated

Ditto, leave it out...in the winter it takes a wee bit longer to heat the cab though....

I have the same problem - mines and automatic 112CDi and getting to the pollen filter is really tricky - I gave up and was hoping for an easier way than reaching under the dashboard to get it out!

Finally got round to removing mine today. I was quite suprised actually, it wasn't as difficult as I was expecting. 20 mins and it was out.

To be honest the most difficult part I found was getting the Clutch bar back on. I found the easiest way was to remove the small circlip from the bottom of the spring assembly were it is attached to the pedal. Remove the whole spring assembly, put the bar back on then re-fit the spring assembly.

Cheers
Jim.
