Error code P0190 & P2306

Hi all,
I have a Vito 115CDI 2004 in limp mode. I used a Launchx431 to diagnose the faults and received the following 2 error codes:

P0190-002 B4/6 (Rail pressure sensor ) The signal voltage is too high.

P2306 N3/9 (CDI control module ) Sensor supply lamp voltage 2 Readout too large Fault indicator lamp on.

Does this mean that I have to replace the ECU?
Is the ECU & CDI the same unit?
Any input will be appreciated.

Hi mate
Check out my post about a similar problem with a 111cdi (not sure how to link to it). In my case it was the common rail pressure regulator but it looks like yours may be the pressure sensor. If you live anywhere near southampton then check out the guy who helped me at Pentangle, he has the genuine MB diagnostic tool and is really switched on at interpreting the results.
If you can identify the faulty part then try to read the Bosch part number on it and you may be able to source it much cheaper from a motor factor or fuel injection specialist than from MB

Thanks gary955, but I have already replaced the pressure sensor and the fault remains.
When I twisted the ECU pc board the MIL light switched off. Thinking that there was a dry joint I had a mate of mine who works on TV sets re solder some of the joints. The fault has now become permanent ie when I now twist the board the light still remains on.
I am trying to figure out which component is faulty on the pc board and hopefully replace that as the ECU is very expensive.
I live in South Afric and i have not yet found anyone with the experience to fault find or repair these ECUs.

Today I rechecked the fault codes and received, in addition to the above 2 code , the following code:

Code003:
P2134-4
Glow plug Cylinder 2
Check lines between Cylinder 2 and N14/2(Glow output stage)

Current & stored

I am wondering if this fault is what is causing the MIL light to stay on permanently and for the vehicle to be in limp mode.
Also why did this fault not register earlier?
The mechanic says the glow plug needs replacing.
Will replace it today and report our findings.

Replaced glow plug 2 and cleared codes. Re read code and code 3 cleared but codes 1 and 2 remained.
Took the vehicle to a Mercedes dealer and had them read the faults on their Diagnostic machine. Their readings are more detailed and are as follows:

CDI -F- Pin 7
Code 0190-001 The signal from component B4/6(Rail pressure sensor) is faulty.
Short circuit to positive or open circuit.

Status: Current & stored.

Code 2306-002 Module for sensor supply 2. Short circuit to ground.

ESP -f- Pin9
Code 5501 CAN communication is faulty.
Status: STORED

IC -f- Pin1

Code B1102 N3/20(Common rail (DCI)):Fault or defect in CAN communication.
Status STORED

Code B1105 Interior CAN bus OFF
Status STORED

Looks as if the Electronic Control Unit (ECU)/CDI needs repairing.
Can anyone explain the above fault codes.
Thanks.
