Hi guys, sorry if this is going over old ground again, but i cant seam to find a clear answer myself.
I've just bought a set of 17" merc alloys with nearly new tyers and want some advice about if they will fit ok, before i try them for size!
They have an ET35 and the tyer size's are 245-40 all round. I know the ET is not ideal, but how will this effect them once they're on my 1999 vito? Will they stick too far beyond the arches etc? Also I have no intentions on lowering it.

17" will need 225/55/17/XL or if the rims will take 245/45/17.
any smaller will be a big problem in speedo callabration.
et 35 is a car wheel I think and will stick right out the arch.
Maggers,
I've fitted some 17" ML wheels to my vito & they fit ok.
They're 8.5" rims fitted with 245/45/17 tyres, can't remember the ET of the rims.
The outside edge of the tyres are almost parallel with the body work.
What i don't understand is, why would you buy some wheels & tyres then ask if they'd fit afterwards? Bang 'em on & find out! ;-)

Hi,
As the standard Vito tyre size is a 195/70-15, replacing them with a 225/55-17 would mean that your speedometer would be running slightly fast. You could have a 215/50-17 though, that would be closer to the original rolling radius, and your speedometer would be running slightly slower i.e. when your speedo reads 60mph you'll actually be doing 59.3mph. You don't want those nasty speed cameras taking pictures!
Cheers for that mate, they look good!
I know what you're saying. To be honest, I bought the wheels for the alloys, the tyers came as a bonus really! I only picked them up on the weekend and haven't had the chance to get them on yet, so thought whilst i'm stuck at work, i'd get everyone's opion's on the tyres.
