Can anyone give me some advise please regarding my clutch. I have a 2003 110cdi vito. Whilst having the intercooler pipes checked at my garage i had to hold on the handbrake and in 4th gear try to pull away so that the engine was under load. The clutch just slipped when i had the revs up high, it also did the same thing in 3rd. 1st and 2nd it just stalled. is this normal or is the clutch on its last legs? I do alot of towing and do not want it going whilst out with my caravan on the back.
Your advise would be greatly appreciated as a new clutch is around £700 i have been advised.
Not sure if that's normal but try a clutch fitters. I had mine done early this year. Merc quoted over £1000. I got it done at a local clutch fitters for £250. They used LUCAS clutches and that price included a new hydraulic slave cylinder.
