Hello

You should change this filter two times in a year

Is a very haevy act to do this if you are bigger than 150cm

A better way, is to make the filter to the outside of the air in box.

Look at the technik manuals of the Mercedes V Club e.V. - V Klasse, Vito, Viano

there are over 500! very good ideas form v class drivers to solve v class problems.

Look at the idea from Ronald and Klaus:
V Technik - Mercedes V Club e.V. - V Klasse, Vito, Viano

Hello

yes, a great idea of them.
first time you have a litte bit more to work, but then the change is very easy, fast and ofter per year possible and a cheap one to

i changed my filter first time after 4 years
there was NO cold air in the summer and no heating in the winter

the v class looks by the change as a big cole mine, somuch black dark was in the filter.
Note:
change the filter two times in a year !! with this method its very cheap and easy !

look at the photos of my first time

Hello

In German v Class (the stearing is left ) this fuse box is on the right side at your feet.
perhaps in GB V Class its on the left side.... i donīt know

But the filter is in the middle of the car behind the big air streamers. so look at which side you can better go to it.

It can be replaced from both sides? I'm right?
by the way: My V230 is from Switzerland.

Hello

Itīs better to remove it form to NOT driver side (at a V class with stearing left)

there is more room to work at the feet range...

Useful tip: Having just done the pollen filter on my right hand drive V220 Auto, I found that if the plastic slide cover to the filter is moved back, the filter itself can be teased to be partially visible (using needle nosed pliers), and then the paper element part of the filter pulled out with a combination of pliers and fingers. The plastic frame doesn't need to be removed, and I didn't need to take out the clutch srping rod, only the centre console and the soft plastic skirts in the drivers and passenger footwell (folded them back, not take them out). The whjole exercise took 20 minutes, and best of all my knuckles are still intact! Statement of the obvious but this doesnt work if you intend to replace the filter with a new one of course.
