V280 auto wont start in Park? only in N

Where is the switch?
It thinks it's in R as the parking sensers are on in park.

Appears that your gearknob alignment is slightly out of sync......open the dash housing and set it correctly and check for loose connections, etc.

Mmmmm it is the inhibitor switch on the gearbox, a 7 pin conector.
It tuck a call to VAG to sort this as MB did not Know! they want to charge £105 per hour to find it! and then change it when they get the part number of it! I know people dont like the 280, but having a VW vr6 engine and a VAG auto box screws up the dealers at MB, but then you go on a VAG fourm and sky is the limit!

Well picked it up from MB and got it home. had a look underneth and the socket was louse
removed it and cleaned it and yes happy days!
MB could not find it and they put a new box in 12months ago!

The V280 engine & gearbox are VW - any mechanical problems should be directed to VW dealers/forums.........quite rightly, MERC dealers know "£*^_%*! about these models!
