Just purchased a 108 Vito with twin passenger seats - which I would like to remove and replace with a single passenger seat.
Help! How do you remove the seat (and base)? Will this disturb all the battery, fusebox and other gubbins?
Have lifted the lino flooring and cannot see how to unbolt - under the chassis on the floorpan?
Any help would be muchos appreciated?
P.S. I have some rear seats for sale - will post photos if anyone is interested?

i did this to my vito, without advice, the passenger seat (the part you sit on) flips forward allowing access to the bolts holding the base to the floor, i found this out after i removed all the electrix and battery , you will need your new seat to have a bare as the seat is attached to the framework ,so it will be all or nothing.I cut mine to pieces to fit my single seat, but it was worth it as the Mazda RX8 seats i fitted are really comfy.
will get on it this weekend! reckon it could be a bit of a mission trying to find a single passenger seat - rang round a few scrappies to no avail! may get hold of some other seats from scrappies or possible buckets?!
only just purchased the van and decking out the rear (with bed for those post surf snoozes!) and interior overall first, tinted windows and then make a start on the bodywork and wheels...noticed from previous posts that u fitted 19s...I wanna do the same but I aint gonna drop mine - do ya get any wheel rub/obstruction from arches?
ta butty - fuzz
p.s. mate, ya van looks tidy darts! (as they say here in wales!)...
(1) Remove the rear panel at the back of the seat base by removing all the torq screws.
(2) Remove the side seat pod (if fitted) by turning the plastic retaining screws until the pod releases.
(3) Open the seat cover by pulling the front up and swinging it open (see pic)
(4) Unscrew the 4 bolts (16 or 17 mm AF socket required) that bolt the seat base to the floor of the van (one in each corner, they're pretty obvious).
(5) Unfasten the fuse box retaining clips (I broke these - you can refix them with an M4 screw later on).
(6) Unbolt the battery retaining bolts at the base - you need a bit of movement of the battery to get the seat out (see pic).
(7) Unfasten the diagnostic socket from the seat base (see pic)
(8) Remove the front seat by lifting it and moving it out to the back of the van - one person can do it but it's easier with two.
In order to fit the single passenger seat you need to unfasten the seat from the base - use a Torq bit with a socket wrench. When you do this, there's an oval washer at the base - whilst unfastening the cap screws, you need to lift the washer up with it otherwise you will damage the screw threads. Do this by prising a flat-bladed screwdriver beneath the washer once you have unfastenend the screw a couple of turns.
Fitting the base of the single seat just the same as the removing the double seat base.

Cheers Fuzz, was over in Wales couple of weeks ago ,on the way to the Hot Rod show in Northampton, great weekend.Watch out if youre thinking of buckets, the sides wont last pissing time getting in and out ,unless you jump in !My 19" s rub a bit when ive got the bike in ,but empty its fine, she's lowered 40 mm, which is enough. Van looks a bit pants at the moment ,until i can get the time to respray.
just wanted to say thanx to both adz & gix - nice one boyos!
having a bit of a mission today fitting stereo/amp/speaks and sub - do you think that there's a permanent 12V stereo feed in the dash - nah! all I seem to have is 12V when ignition on...reckon I'm gonna run a 12V feed from the footwell fusebox - I know F13 to F18 are not used (is there a 12V supply to these?) or what about F7 (used for cell phone)?
Are you sure there's no 12V connection? What about the fusebox under the steering column. The 20A fuse about 3 from the bottom is for your radio. Look for a thick yellow wire behind the middle console (which would contain the stereo if you had one). Other than that, the mobile phone one would be okay I reckon.
