Rear brake compensator vavle

Hi there i have just fitted new discs and pads to the front of a vito 108 and while doing that I adjusted the handbrake so that is all good . But when braking the brakes dont seem to be as good as they should be . There dont seem to be much braking fron the rear brakes .So the questin is how does this valve assembly work and can it be overriden so that there is a good bit of braking from the rear ?

Thanks

Did u bleed the system properly, as the system is split diagonally i.e. front right rear left and vise versa, this happened me when i took my calipers off to paint.[:0]

Did you use genuine MB parts. I have found with both VW and Mercs that none original brake pads in particular have never been as good as originals, worst for me were EBC pads on Vito.In Australia MB parts are cheaper than after market, thus false economics to buy non original. However VW parts are upto 3 times the price of after market replacement parts.
You may get some improvement after they bed in (400 klm)
