Air-pressure

I'm loosing the air-pressure when the difflocks are engaged on my 416 from 1971. I think the problem is in the "air-valve" on top of the gearbox. Is it possible to restore/repair this unit? The car has done only
30 000 km, and the wear on the rest of the vehicle is almost like none..(Perhaps that's the problem - the car has spent most of it's life in a garage and the
rubber-gaskets have dried out)
Leiv Solberg

Re: Air-pressure

Hi Leiv,
My 406 did the same thing, I purchased repair parts from Jim Ince @ Eurotech Services (http://www.unimogs.com). Good luck - do you have the shop manuals?
Dave
: I'm loosing the air-pressure when the difflocks are engaged on my 416 from 1971. I think the problem is in the "air-valve" on top of the gearbox. If it bubbles you found your leak. If it isn't leaking there listen at the ends of the axles. My front dif lock cylinder is leaking inside the axle. When the locker is engaged it blows air out the axle seal.
