Here is what I have found today. I also have my bosch shop looking into the differences between the two nozzles below.

Bosch injector numbers

It will be interesting to see what other differences there are in the two nozzles minus the spray pattern being narrower on the supposed higher output nozzle.

The following information was compiled with great care and reconstruction in practice over years of testing.

Dave--you are limited with what you can achieve in maximum HP output with the standard--no piston squirter/spritzer--OM352 engine. Especially pushing around an 12,000 lb SBU. If you push it to it's limit by turning up pump and IP timing--and larger injectors, add on turbo etc---it will be expensive and it really won't get you a lot of engine protecting--safe HP. Save your up grade money and find a OM352A engine that has piston spritzers already and then tune it---you will be way ahead in HP and durability and save money in the process. The OM352A engines with piston spritzers are---really strong-- engines and are capable of upwards to 280 HP + intercooled-- safely.
---They are around---save up and start the hunt.

I already have a OM352a motor... are you saying I should find another Om352a with squirters?

I have not physically verified weather I have them or not yet, I am planning on verifying soon though... Living in Seattle without a shop sucks.. it’s warm enough to be outside but everything’s always gets covered in water to make it a pain in the rear.

I suspect that my block will have provisioning for them, "ribs" and hoping that if I don't have them I will be lucky to have the provisioning.


So 280HP …. What’s the secret? … in a dodge or ford it’s easy to find the directions to massive power… but in the Unimog its seems to be unspoken information.. as to the details of the best turbo, intercooler, injection pump settings, and injectors… I feel like anything past a simple fuel delivery change is only meant for the Mercedes Elves

is capable of that HP--As I stated to Jason--Piston Bully uses that engine in their model 200 and 250 snow Cats, rated at 279 HP. If you are close to Portland--I can turn U onto an engine--complete with intercooler. Would have the squirters. e-mail me and I will give you the guys phone number.--But if your motor has squirters--you are good to start the tune process--add the intercooler etc.

How did you come to the conclusion that Pisten Bully used the OM352. I see where they used 926LA but not the 352. And all the newer equipment I have used comes with Cummins and Cat engines.

I talked to a dealer in Colo. and he told me plus have seen them for sale used on craigslist and the OM352A engine was listed. The Colo. dealer has crated factory OM352A engines for replacements in the Piston Bully.---Only $10,000---such a deal.

Hmm, would that have been Prinoth in grand junction? I personally have yet to see an OM352 in any snow groomer old or new. But stranger things have happened.
