406 PTO shaft interchangeable??

Looking for input and feasibility of using the pillow block from my 406 front PTO to attach to rear PTO output flange and drive my pump. My battery and air tank are inline with rear PTO but there is space for a 12'' shaft and pump. Essentially are the flanges on either end of PTO shafts identical? I would like to get this pump off the front. I have a parker pump with a A/C type clutch but a serpentine pulley that would be handy if I can change the pulley. I need fluid power. Its below zero and dark so I have not begun to remove the front shaft so I can check the flange between the bearing block and shaft as well as output flange.

Yes, all the shaft ends are interchangeable. Of note, I had my front and rear all apart just a few weeks ago for some maintenance and to fabricate that silly chipper install of mine, so the knowledge is fresh. The only difference is the length of the shaft from rear PTO connection to the factory pillow block installation point. This first shaft (of two heading to the rear) is much shorter than the front shaft; however, there is plenty of room to put an alternate pillow block mounting point somewhere back there. I have not looked into it, but I'm sure one could get a drive shaft shop to make up a shaft to your prefered length with yokes to match the universal, and then just install your end yoke / plates and have at it.

Wait a moment please, I think I misunderstood. The ends of the PTO shafts have a ridge of metal on them, and the mating pillow blocks have a notch to receive said ridge, so if you were to try to directly attach the pillow block to the PTO transfer case flange, it would not work smoothly, though machining a disk with a groove on each side shouldn't be too hard. I'm not sure how much torque the bearings in the transfer case could take though. The pillow block, as you know is quite rugged, but I'd be careful loading the transfer case.
