:thumbsup:Here's some pics of the Actros 8x8...I'd love to have one for my camper/offroad-onroad needs!

Oh...I added a Hemitt that's 4-sale on Ebay up where I live! Very Nice! Still love that flat front/cab forward design of the Mercedes! Efficient on Space!

Call Hans up at Mross! He has one waiting for you!

Love the Actros.

I'll one-up-ya, here's the military version the Canadians use oversea's:

And my personal favorite, this is the on-road version (highway truck I guess it would be called) with the fancy interior

Unfortunately I only got a little Mog - my upholsterer ( i.e. wife) might not be up to that standard, but I think we will be going a bit beyond "agricultural minimalism" for the interior. I was thinking a set of S-class leather seats at least. I love the timber floor as well - wonder how well it would work for heat and sound proofing

Has anyone done much work on their Mog interior?

The wood floor "Yacht" style is quite neat, probably not entirly practical in a Unimog, but who knows, lots of sauna's have wood floors, and with water crossings, and the heat of the motor (at least in a 416) its almost sauna like.

But all kidding aside, my truck has upgraded BMW power heated leather seats, carpet, and lots of sound deadener, sure makes it more comfortable to drive. I don't consider it "pimped out" because its functional (heated seats in Canada is a good thing). And the sound deadener makes long drives much more comfortable. I don't know whats with that passanger seat though, looks like a designer chair of some sort, out of place if you ask me.

I'd love to see some photos, which BMW seat did you use? I was looking at a pair of Jaguar leather seats the other day, but most modern cars rely on their suspension to cushion the ride, whilst on the Mog, the seats will be doing a lot of the work. For me leather is a really practical solution, as it is very hard wearing and comfortable. No real use for heated seats - a "cooled" seat - that might be something.

?? Locked out hardwood floors?

If your talking them being locked out by the 18wheeler industry leaders totaly... dont buy that. Its a market thing more than it could be that. Really dont see a market here for 6x6 or 8x8 wheeled beast. The small amount of market for it does not even use any of the big manufacturers you mentioned.
