Thanks for the input guys. Things are starting to get more clear. As far as frame deflection how much to I need to allow for? 1", 2", or more? Do you think if I left the rear of the bed mounted the way it is and did some kind of flex joint on the front similar to what hammogger has done would that be ok or would I need to allow the rear to flex more? One thing to note is I don't have the additional frame overhang since I bobbed off 18". I think if I was to do a center mount to allow for twist on the front I could mount my rollcage on bushings to allow for a soft mounting with still having integrity. The last thing I want is to have a rollcage that is fatigued and doesn't do it's job!
Thanks,
Deelux
I have a friend who mounted 6-points directly too the bed. It worked but when he built his flex/articulation ramps to check out the articulation he realized it didn't work the way he wanted....So he left 2 middle ones hard mounted as most Radio Boxes are and put 4 mounts with rubber pads under each and double nutted loosely. Worked better but not what he was looking for either. He finally made a mount like the Radio Box and fabbed another mount to meet it into a center pivot point. It worked alot better. Now he needs to fab the front of the deck. Articulation picked up about 4". That's the nice thing about having a Radio box/it's weight moove. It flexes which aides in the articulation of the frame flex. I'll post up some pics.
