How-to remove water from the inside of a headlight

Got pinched by road controllers today. They were stopping any trucks passing close by for a full inspection. The tally is 850$ of tickets and 48 hour to repair my leaking gas tank cap, a burn-out cab light and fix one of the headlight.

One of the headlight has a little pool of water in it.

Is that a common issue, water infiltration ?

How do I remove the whole headlight housing ?

Those 2 screws at the front are only for adjustment, right ?

I searched around but came-up empty

I have no clue on how to remove the housing from the bumper yet.

The important thing for me is to get the water out before my inspection on monday. A permanent fix is desired but not needed.

Remind me not to drive through Quebec...sounds like a cashgrab; if the light is operative can they still fine you for water infiltration?
One thing I can think of is a blow dryer...it has relatively gentle heat, or set up a microfurnace (cheap square ceramic heater) in front of it for a temporary fix.

Yep, the light works fine but I still got quoted on it.

They didn't say nothing about my lack of rear bumper though.

They three things they found on the truck were tagged as minor infractions so I was still able to drive away with the mog 6 hours later. They forced me to go to the DMV to change the GVW on the registration and to get a new plate with a L on it instead of a F. It was plated as "tool-trucK" first, same cat as a rolling crane or a mechanical broom-truck. The inspector said that he was giving me a big favor by not towing the mog away.

The thing is that I got to figure out how the remove the whole unit first.

I got 2 screws in front and 2 bolts on each sides.

BTW Anybody knows offhand the type of bulb in those clearance cab lights ?

I'd imagine that you can remove the bulb without the whole lens/ housing. Get a baster or some other device to siphon out the liquid and reach in with a couple of swabs to soak up the last bits. The hair dryer is a good idea as well.

I am heading out to fix this now.

Ill toss a rag in there and finish it off with a hairdryer. I wish I had acetone.

Mission accomplished !

I fixed the 3 "problems" I had.

The source of the water in the headlight was a bad gasket on the hydraulic tubing that activates the tilting of the headlight.
The water was following the tubing and entered the headlight unit. I silliconed the hell out of it.
To remove the water, I just tilted the headlight and it just flowed out. I was expecting a sealed headlight but it isn't.
2 screws are holding the bezel and six 4mm allen head bolt are holding the headlight unit.

I need to keep with my LED addiction. I saw those on ebay.

For now, I bought some from canadian tire.
