How about H2O mog? Had a whoops! Shouldn't drive with out a properly working air system. Mog just doesn't Brake too well! Fortunately only pride hurt as a ford had to pull me out.

My vote is that anyone that loves and actually owns a MOG has made the cut. My MOG did body recovery with the SHERIFF'S team and is retired like me. So I speak with reverence when it come to BADCASE and how it served me and others. READY AND WAITING TO DO THE JOB
If someone linked to a post about my mog, implied it was a mall-queen, and that I had a small drive-shaft, I probably wouldn't "lighten up" much.
I think that Maltese mog is excellent, and I look forward to seeing more posts about it. This thread is very bad manners to a fellow forum-member, and I reckon it should be deleted.
I can't believe I missed all this conflict. Someone email me next time.
Seems like we have quite a mix of folks on this forum, so what's the big surprise that there is a little tongue in cheek reference to the different priorities of Mog owners. If you put half the stuff we see on this forum up on Pirate4x4 you'd be run outta there like a frat boy in a biker bar. I think its interesting to see the "mall cruisers" and the painstaking restorers, and even the campers, but I don't think even I could fake enthusiasm over some laser cut logos in a wheel hub or some gold anodized trim pieces.
ok in the domestic US 4x4 world a pretty boy 4x4 that does not get dirty, who's main job is to make up for a short .... aaaahhhh ...... you get the point... is a
Mall Cruiser.
ok.... so what should we call a Unimog used this way? Post up your names.
I'll start us off with
Unismug
How about a Daily Driver?
Or a rolling showcase for a mans engineering and fabrication skills that he doesn't particularly want to beat up off road just to satisfy others' opinions on what makes a "real" off roader?
If he never takes through anything more than a street puddle it's ok by me. It's still a d**n fine mog that I would be MORE than happy to own. There's a custom van style mog a few posts back labled as a mall crawler and I'd be darn happy to have that one as well AND I'd probably be choosy as to where I drove it.
I know you meant well Coach, but human nature being what it is threads like this tend to bring out elitist attitudes and gravitate towards an Us and Them mentality.
Just 2 cents (which by monday will be worth about 1.25 cents)

Well I didn't even realize a conflict had started until I reread everything after posting the pictures of mine when I rolled her backwards into the river. I was not in anyway trying to cause a problem, when I read the post by Tmax after dumping mine it just kind of made sense to dub it an H2O mog and I figured some of you guys would appreciate the shots and get a laugh since no damage to mog or owner, other than pride! In all sincerity I wish that I could take the time and build mine to the level that some of you have acheived but I just couldn't put it through most of the things I do if it looked to good! MUD

I liked that photo of the H2O Mog. But, why didn't it come out on its own? That looked like a 2WD situation to me even if your locker was in operative. And, someone needs a new strap. Get a 4" single ply looped at both ends. They are far more photogenic.

Wilson, this particular spot happens to be right where everyone launches their boat and it has quite the drop off from the props churning the water all of the time. It also happens to be the mighty Mississippi river that is just a giant sand bar that got covered over when the locks and dams where installed back in the 30's so basically no bottom to dig into for traction. I personally have an 1 1/4 round rope looped at both ends, it was originally ordered for an electric company line truck but was only supposed to come looped on one end so I got it for next to nothing, but in this situation out cruising didn't have, or think I would need anything, so beggars can't be choosers and the ford that yanked me out probably wouldn't ever need something so large. Although the picture couldn't show my real humiliation as I had to crop them to fit, right next to our ramp is the public access ramp and a bass fishing tournament was ending, 22 bass boats circling in the back ground and I'm sure laughing like crazy.

OMG! What a time to have the air fail. I get what you mean about those boat ramps. After a few hours of launchings, they can get really steep and slick. then, overnight the current fills them back in. There must be some way to get redemption.
