I took my Unimog to town to get some groceries. While at the grocery store, I had a guy ask my "why do you have that thing?" I told him "because I can, why do you have that thing?" (pointing towards his furd exploder he parked like an idiot in)
Then, 1/2 way down my road on the way home, I remembered to myself why I indeed have it, and thought I'd stop, put my Galaxy S3 in the tablet mount, and shoot a short video of the road to my place.
Little primer first, we live down a "farmer access road", the road used to be a lake, that they drained for farm land, the drainage ditch runs along the road, and there is no gravel or maintenance preformed on the road, except the occasional plowing when he's doing the adjacent road. I could take the gravel road the other way, but its not currently plowed either, and adds 25minutes to the drive. Again, don't own a gopro, this is my phone, so sorry for the quality.
I also wouldn't normally stop 1/2 way down, Once I start down this road, I know it well enough to keep the revs up, keep to the flat side, far, far away from that drainage ditch, and just go. But I figured it was a good time to shoot a video.
Hard to tell from the video, but the road severely cants to the right, and if you get one tire even close to that ditch, your done. Its much better to get sucked into the left side, there is no ditch, the drifting is from the grader piling snow up on that side, and its all flat land on that side, so if you get sucked in, nothing to harm the truck.
