For me I like this idea for expedition travel. Normal width tire mounted for travel with 4 spares onboard. Maybe 5 if you have room
When you get to destert travel... you add the 4 spares increasing your float ability on the sand. If you had room.... you still got the other spare left too
Would prevent the need to be hauling around 4 wide float tires with you.

Off topic, I was driving through town a few weeks ago behind a guy in a John Deere 9430 4WD running TRIPLES on each of his 4 wheels !!! Needless to say, it took up the *W*H*O*L*E road
I've seen plenty of guys running doubles but this was my first triple - in checking out the JD web site, I see it's a factory option.
Tires, triples
Here's a pic of what I'm talking about (only running doubles) - can you say t-r-a-c-t-i-o-n ? ?
