Is fuel tank under constant pressure on U900?

Hi everyone,

My U900 had a bad fuel tank that may have been easier to just replace. i have a temporary one mounted, and I have to prime the system all the time, to have it run properly. -Mind you, I don't use the Unimog while outfitting and restoring it. Any thoughts or advice on good tanks to look for, or even if you have a spare factory tank.

NO...It is not under constant pressure

It sounds like you have a fuel line leak somewhere between the tank and the IP. I would suggest that your replace all of the lines (and filters while you are at it) and re-prime the system. This should fix the problem.
Regards,
PKK

Thank you for the insights. The fuel line is sketchily put together, so its most likely an air leak issue. I plan on fitting a whole new tank, hopefully a larger capacity. -So, is the tank under pressure somehow? is that what you mean by an air leak? so, if the tank can breath while in use, it will loose pressure to the fuel siphoning line? thanks again.
