Changing from a single cab to a DoKa cab is not that much more work than just swapping a cab, but the cargo bed and bed subframe will have to be replaced or shortened, and there is some extra hardware that you will need for the cab swap. The worst problem I see is that it is almost impossible to find a DoKa cab seperate from the truck, and if you find one, it is likely to cost you 8 or 10 K or more plus shipping from europe, as I don't think you will find one avalible in North America. In the long run it is probably cheaper to wait and find a DoKa whole, last fall there were several decent 416 doka trucks for sale in the 15K range, you just have to wait until someone needs the money or just wants to move on/up.
Cheers,
Ben

Sorry guys, I got more questions...Is it hard to convert a standard cab to a Doka cab if I can find a doka cab? There seems to be lots of standard cabs for sale in great shape for decent prices.
I have done it on a 406. Had to have the cab sent over from England. Shipping was more than the price of the cab! But the good news is I hope to have fiberglass DoKa cabs soon to do just what you are talking about!
Will keep the list posted!

Yes, and I want that mog of yours, the orange one, its just slightly out of my price range, excellent price for the work done, don't get me wrong, but I'm limited by what I can sell my car for, otherwise, I'd be driving down to get that beauty.

Could I get a Doka hood without the cab from you ?
I drove one of Big Eagle's Mogs a few years ago. Thought that would be waaay cool. Work was very slow and he didn't pay what he said he would. That took a bit of the shine off, and only lasted for about 3 weeks. Unfortunately didn't get to "test" the capabilities much, either.
I would love to be in a position to make a similar purchase, but that is going to have to wait.
Good luck!

Thats her! good pic, you work there? Thats the Mog that started the obsession, I'm now selling my car ('06 Mazdaspeed6) and looking for a Doka (Unless someone whats to trade )
Its from Unimog Holland, Volksmog on this site showed me the site, he says he several hours away, and offered to go inspect it for me if I was interested, heres the pertinent info:
416 DOKA
VERY RARE DOUBLE CABINE FAST AXLES-PTO-WINCH

So, would you guys mind pouring over the pictures and as unimog owners/fanatics tell me what I might be missing, not seeing? This truck has it all in my critiria, Fast Axles, PTO winch, the external roll cage is kick butt, and I assume its a diesel as its a 416, the DoKa cab is shorter than most I think, but that doesn't really bother me (I assume these were made custom for the fire department?) and I'd be ditching all the pump stuff. Theres 3 pages of pictures. The box looks really good and useful, I don't think its a tank back there?
Thanks again.
Oh, its $22,500 Euro, so thats about $35,164.66 CAD, Plus import. Thoughts?
