Anyone know of a 416 doka that might be for sale soon..?
Hi all...
I have begun to look for a unimog and think I have it narrowed down to a 416 doka with fast axles. I want a DD and family camper that can traverse most any trail I find.
I currently have a highly modified 1980 Scout II which i swapped in a 6.5 TD engine with one ton axles ect. I also have a 2001 chevy duramax 2500HD 4x4 crew, both of which i plan to sell to make room and funds for the new rig.
I know I will get used to not going quick, not a big deal in my book.
I will be looking at a couple of nearby mogs in the next few weeks just to confirm what i will think i want. They are not for sale but the owners have gracislouly offered to show me & take me for a ride..
Are there any owners of 416 dokas thinking of selling? I would be interested in talking....I am in no hurry at this point.
Docfranco
I am in so cal btw...
Sure - as soon as that guys 406 sells for $45K, mine will be for sale
Fast axles, 20 speed, high HP engine - the works !
And I want at least $100k for the one I am doing up. Hyper fast axles (4.93) 24 speed air shift tranny, 275HP turbo motor! Plus another full frame off restoration!.................I think I want more $$ now that I read this!

That guy on ebay is not helping me OUT at all.....
In just a couple of posts the value has sky rocketed....LOL

Keep an eye out, there were at least 3 416 DoKa's that sold in the fall on the exchange or craigslist in the $15K or less range, and they were running complete examples. The fast axles are the main thing that will make the price go up the most on what you are looking for. If you are willing to wait you will find one for a fair price.
Cheers,
Ben

Now that I think about it, I have a 416 Doka of sorts that I am willing to sell, but it might not be what you had in mind, although it would make a great camper. I haven't checked the axle ratio and haven't had it up to highway speeds, so I don't know if it has fast axles or not. It will be pretty cheap though. Here's a picture... if you're interested, PM me.
I have contacted the ebay 406 guy, he is just feeling out the market I guess. I mean obviously he can ask what ever he wants for his 406, but when asked why so hight the first time he replied by dropping the price from 50k to 45k, wooooa easy now don't sell your self out.
As far as looking for a fast axle 416 DoKa, be patient, very patient. Or be ready to be equally patient finding the right 416 DoKa and shelling out some more cash to have the axles modified. It took most of us a long time to find the right truck. And to be honest with you, a fast axled 416 DoKa is extremely rare.
I'll jump in and offer mine at.........$137,242. I'll even throw in a rock a got at Calico Mogfest. It's the one that bit Richards 2450 wheel protector. I should probably charge more. Any takers?

Von, that's EXACTLY the kind of Mog that MIGHT get 100K if you bling it enough !
Maybe you can sell it to Leno - he has a weakness for that kind of stuff.
* Bling 24's with aggressive road tires
* Monster stereo w/ DVD player
* Chromatic paint job
* Mike Lavallee Tru-Fire flame job
* Pop-off's on the turbo for that Fast'N'Furious sound
* ChromeChromeChrome
With that motor, it ought to be able to win burn-out contests too !
