Hi All,

Been gone from the forum for a while, hope everyone had a great summer ! I decided that I'd better get my butt in gear and start working before it snows!! Here's day's one and two...

Day one: 2000 lbs of sand, a gallon of primer and at 11 pm... Advil!

Hey Yarr,

It's great to be out in the country !!! Actually blasted until just about dark... it's amazing what mercury vapor lights will do to a picture.

Day two (today), thought I could get a couple of more hours blasting the rims and other bits... as soon as I got the outsides done and it started raining

Went onto painting instead...

...its black now!!...Just kidding.
I really admire the dedication most of the Mog drivers have to restore their beauties. It's like a new live for those work horses.I guess nothing new...just a thought...
Another thing.Even though U1000 is "just" MBU (not SBU - to be correct) it has hell of a frame which I find quite amazing.

Looks, great! I know when I saw your truck in the spring, you had some surface rust issues you wanted to cleanup. Are you going to paint the cab? Is there a color change in there somewhere?? You won't want to drive it in the winter now, with all the salt they use on the roads around here!

Hey Ehi,

one thing...what kind of axles do you have on your Mog?It is U1000 so it is MBU
but your axles have 8 bolts on each side.Usually they come with 6.How come you got 8?...WTH?

Hey Yarr,

Good eye, my little guy is more setup as a U1600, heavy frame, axles etc... It started out as a snowblower unit in Germesheim Germany... That's why there is a turbo/aftercooler mod going in the near future.

Hey Von,

How've ya been ??? I've got some body work to do on the cab, then it's getting dark olive mettalic paint. It's going to hurt to drive it in the crap, but it's supposed to be my daily driver..... How's your snow accumulation ??

GB,
That color will look sweet!!! I love a mettalic paint job on a mog!!! Shows class!

As for snow, we got nothing! it all when west or east of us. But our time will come. Post some photos when the paint is done!
