... the grille was doing it's usual, the $800+ AV replacement is out of the budget for now, so a little work...and bedliner makes it look better. I'm trying to coat everything that will be subject to abuse, and the normal corrosion points. Don't want to have to do this again !

... and the beat goes on... windshield sill replaced, and first layer of bedliner in the cab.

...One long day, it was pretty crappy outside so why not just go for it !

Step 1... finish bedliner... not much area uncovered, including the roof. Hopefully this will keep the dreaded rust at bay... 11 am: unmask, remask inside of cab...

Step 2...

Epoxy primer... it's getting pretty thick in there, not as bad as the leaking anhydrous ammonia from a tractor being serviced...

Step 3...
Six coats BASF Matrix dark olive metallic, so thick now painting with a flashlight to ensure coverage... even after cleaning the gun the fog is so bad it just reflects the camera flash. Hopefully I won't find a sleeping cat stuck to the paint tomorrow !!!!

Good color!!! Once had painted both my BMW 320i and Jeep J3000 pickup on 36" swampers pretty close I think to that same color. That color looks good with some suttle gold bling like a small stripe. IMHO it would be too much bling to gold your Mercedes star.

Yeah I know what you mean... I'd have to get a matching one to wear on a chain !!!

The original idea for the color was that I wasn't going to paint the jambs, I guess that idea went out the window !

Gregg,

I really like the color but I am most interested in the intercooler, turbo charger you added. How long until you think you fire her up ?

Hey Steve,

Well right now I'm racing to get the cab back on before I have to leave on Wednesday, won't be back until the 23rd. Then I have to trailer it home so I can get back to engine work. There's also a big push to put new centers in the beadlock rims... and stuff.

... pulled the doors out of the back room yesterday to try and figure out what to do. While they were 95% solid there were still a couple of odd rust spots. As the entire inside of the cab was bedliner I figure the inside should be the same... Today the outsides and hopefully plop the cab back on the frame after installing the glass...
