How to Shrink your Pic. Give it anti-viagra?

MSOffice stoped distributing MSPhotoEdit. I was easy to crop and shrink photo's in that probram. Lot of stuff was easy such as some minor color adjustments etc. Nice little program.. BUTTT... its no longer available and boy is it a PITA to use lot of other photo programs out there to do these simple task.. WELLLL maybe NOT.

I found this program that is ONLINE... nothing to dowload, BUTTT... does make it sorta SLOW but it does the job. It is a BETA program so it may change or like disapear. But in the mean time I'll teach you how to use it for shrinking your pics.

1. First you have to open the program.

Go To Wiredness: Image Manipulation YOU SEE

2. GETTING YOUR PIC from your hard drive to the Internet for this net program to shrink it.

. Go to [FILE] See oval in Pic above. Let your cursor float above it and a new menu opens
. Hit [OPEN LOCAL FILE] this is what most of will be doing.

YOU SEE

. NOTE in your head if this pic is a tall rectangle or a wide rectangle. Wide is more typical. This will be important later when you resize the pic

. [CHOOSE] Hit this to search thru your hardrive for the pic you want.
. [UPLOAD FILE] Hit this to move your pic from your hardrive to a temporary place on the internet for this net based program to modify it.

3. SHRINKING your pic

. [RESIZE] Put curser over this then:

...IF yoru pic is wider than it is tall then Hit below button.
.........[EASY RESIZE] Hit this
...............[COMMON SIZES]Go here
..........................[800x600] arrow down to this and Hit it.

....IF your pic is taller than it is wider
............[Exact Resize]Hit this
.................... Type in 600 & 800 in the appropriate boxes ( 600wide & 800high)

. Almost done

. [ADJUST SIZE] HIT THIS. Now wait and wait. Once the program is done adjusting size...... and all looks well

4. SAVING your new pic

. [FILE] float cursor over this menu item

. [SAVE AS] Hit this
. do your thing and save it where you want it.

Following this format you can also edit phots and do few other wizard photo tricks by selecting the appropriate menu item.

Best of luck

IF ANY OF YOU FIND A BETTER WAY.

Photoshop is a great program I am sure. I have found though that the more you can do with it the more complicated it is and harder to learn.

Besides apparently a lot of folk don't have photoshop or anything else for manipulating photo's cause have had several request to help people shrink their pics in the last few weeks. I use to use MSPhotoEdit but the switch to XP took away that option

Sooooooo..... put this together for everyone and IT's FREE

I've got an even easier way IF you're running Windows XP on your machine...

Go to: Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP

Download the app called Image Resizer. Now, you can right mouse click on any picture resident on your computer, select the task called Resize Pictures and have your choice of 4 different resolutions on-the-fly.

Works great and is considerable cheaper then Photoshop

Mr Saurus,

Excellent tip!!!! It even seems to do multiple ones. I used to do it easily in linux - but my new laptop ain't too keen, this helps.

As for macs, when they produced a round mouse I wrote them off, that's an idiotic idea.

Mog content? I'm going to resize loads of pictures!
