SBU Heater Install

Well I've just installed a new heater in time for the bad weather... My truck came without a panel over the stock heater and it was a little tired anyway so I decided to install an aftermarket. I followed the suggestions and chose an Heater Craft unit and after some searching found JC Whitney to have the best deal at $189.00 (and free shipping at the time). Additionally it came with the switch, ducting and a plenum which was extra at other shops.

After removing the old unit and glove box I found plenty of room for this, the radio and gauges in an aluminum panel I had fabricated. I cut the appropriate holes and finished it with my favorite Krylon Krinkle Finish paint to match the overhauled gauge panel. After poking around to find the right size PVC tee to mate with the defroster vents in it went easily. Now all that's left, and it'll wait till the temp outside rises to a more human level I'll finish the stereo wiring !

All in all it was a rewarding project and it's nice and toasty in the cab now...on to the next project !
