404 Roll Cage Ideas

These are my ideas for building a roll cage for a DOKA, we've had a bit of a chat about it on the moglist, but this seems actually a better way, so we can link to other photos.

Sorry about the dubious "cad" - I've never been able to make 3D cad do what I want it to, and 2D ain't up to the job.

I'm not going to use the cab for much of the cage support, 'cos they ain't strong enough, and mine is a "custom" DOKA.

The basic idea is to have one main hoop that goes from the chassis and round the cab, possibly two hoops, rather than one. This will be attached at the same point as the "normal" back cab mounts - which are the middle of mine.

This hoop will be attached to the cab - welded to the windscreen brackets, which are strong. The front will be able to pivot around its normal point.

There will be another hoop round the back of the cab, which won't be as strong as the front one, there will be bars going forwards. This will have a hinge that replicates the normal doka one, to allow flex

The roof is likely to be suspended inside the cage, but I'm not sure yet.
