So, my butterfly was corroded in place and the bi-metal actuator was toast. I have the new bi-metallic coil, and am trying to install it correctly.
It's not real cold here in FL, but I assume it should be positioned to open the flap at ambient (it's about 70 today)???....or does exhaust pressure force it open and the engine warming cause the coil to torque it back closed??
Do I pre-load the butterfly by winding the coil like a "re-coil"?
Help?
