6 spd trans oil dipstick

I've been tearing through my 71 416, and even though I try to keep everything organized, I've missplaced the tranmission dipstick. Can anyone tell me the length of the dipstick itself so that I can make one? I need to be able to keep an eye on the level as I suspect that I have a leak into one of the driveshaft tubes. Here's info on a new one:

A 404 260 0074 Dipstick $58.57

It's a 404 part, so maybe someone with an old 404 gearbox will sell theirs. In fact, I may have a good used one in the shop.
