Von,

Nothing is wrong with that Mog, is a Uniknick or UK for short, I think they make the ultimate off roader, I would like to get my hands on one.

Tracing back the URL of that pic and you find a few more

These pics I'm guessing are from a 2003 truck trial. Helgeth I beleave is the sponsor/builder? of this rig. Uniknicks seem to articulate something like a skid steer and/or US Marine Corp Gamma Goat (may not be exact name but it is something like that).

RE: What's wrong with this picture

Here's the official Uniknick site link.

http://www.uniknick.de/uniknick.htm

They have no steering axles - all steering is done with the articulated link in the center. They have a built in double drum winch and that blade in the rear is what gets dropped and pulled against. (Looks like the trial truck's winch has been removed)

I think one of these would be the start of a killer Moab, UT extreme recovery service !

There's one here in W Illinois that I've kicked the tires on - very cool...

Torque Tube

is the torque tube stock? If so its interesting that it can handle the extreme angles the Articulating steer point put on that rear axle.

I don't think so - On the one I looked at, there seemed to be all sorts of weirdness going on under there [;)]
