modified Clutch mechanisim for dieselized 404.1

Sorry I cant give you any more info. than pictures. The previous owner of my Mog is a Nanotech Engineer. He machined and designed this clutch mechanism. I have been told it appears to be a simular design to that of the unit in the 406.

RE: Buyer's Guid, FYI's Tech tips, DIY's etc.

Hello all, I just wanted to start by saying I'm excited to be here. I'm a regular reader but a newly registered member. I wanted to add a note to those of you with 416's looking to change out you headlights. Don't go through the hastle of changing out your housings, just get rid of the bulbs. Go down to your local NAPA and order part number 6260A 12v 60/55W halogen bulbs. They fit w/o modification, and they are much brighter than the old stock ones. Thanks, I look foreward to future info an insight from this great forum.

BurqueDoka,

Welcome aboard, any good tips or input are appreciated.
I guess you are referring to the old European style, I have sealed beams it does not apply to me, does it?

Oil Filter for RQV Pump

For the benefit of some other mogger who may be considering installing the truck style governed pump, in order to make room for the larger governor housing you have to run the smaller style oil filter housing (about thsize of a Chunky soup can). My mog had that style on it when I got it. I've seen most others with the large style(coffe can size filter). The mercedes part number for the small filter and housing is currently 364 180 16 10 there is also an Mann+Hummel number on the new one I have typ 67 504 63 366. This might be for the element inside or the whole thing as the housing is stamped Mann.

RE: FYI's Tech tips, DIY's, Buyer's Guide, etc.

Here is some suggested low price places for infrared temp guns. (point and shoot, temp gauge IR meters)

" In the RC hobby world there is a demand for handheld IR thermometers. They are primarily used on the nitro cars and boats. They may just fit the bill for mog users. They are the size of a small cell phone. Typically the high end of the reading range is 428 with an accuracy of + or - 2 degrees.

HPI Racing makes one for 35 dollars. There are cheaper ones. Duratrax makes one for 25."

Thanx for the info Eric.
