I recently had a fuel starvation problem with my 1969 280S (W108) while I was in Northern California, 500 miles from home. I happened to stumble into Precision Mercedes, at 2831 Soquel Ave. in Santa Cruz, and they turned out to be very knowledgeable about older Mercedes Benzes like mine. They even stock quite a few parts for W108 chassis cars.

When replacing the fuel pump didn't solve the problem completely, Frank, the owner, spent a couple of hours replacing fuel hoses, blowing out the lines and adjusting the carburetors, all the whole being interrupted by phone calls. When I asked how much I owed him, he waved me off, but I insisted on giving him $40 for the extra effort. I drove back home with no problems. If I ever need an expert when I'm in the area again, i will definitely take my car there.

Circle Star Motors at 2750 Soquel Ave.

Professional, fast, and reasonably priced for excellent work.

Max is a cool guy.

I'll second circle star motors

It's been a few years, but I will be trusting my "new" MB to circle star. I've had nothing but good service at fair prices with them. I do most of my own repairs, but as I don't have a lift, and some of the special tools needed for all the repairs, I will be back.

+++ for Precision Mercedes, who moved into bigger digs recently. Frank (owner) is a genius at diagnosing obscure problems, his team have done me right so far.
