but do any of them do much more then change fluids and spark plugs ?
went to g&g , got my trans fluid changed , asked about trans work ( rebuilds , valve body work )i have a 3-4 shift thats weird , they told me no one in the valley works on those crazy 7g trans , they cant do them and no one ( not true ) rebuilds them , ill have to get a new trans at the cost of 5 grand ( not installed ) .

the service ( trans fluid change ) i got at g&g was ok , the guys in the back called me a fake cop when they saw my dash cam inside the car , i saw it on the video later ( for what reason i have no f,in idea ) but i wont go back anytime soon .

People from farther away had their transmission rebuild around L.A.
Sun Valley Mercedes Transmissions used to do decent, not too costly, and guaranteed rebuilds. Try a forum search, quite a few people here went.
They may have moved from Sun Valley to Van Nuys?

The cheapest way would be a good used from a wrecking yard.

Haven't been to or heard of Autobahn. But I have been to Franks on Sunset. Not Decatur.

I have heard more than one person tell me that G & G Autohaus is great. I'll be going there.

Garage
Dropped the 560SEL at G&G Autohaus on Monday morning for an oil change and transmission service. Car had been sitting for 8+ months before I bought it and no service history. Within an hour of dropping the car off, they called to tell me they test drove the car and I didn't need a trans service, the fluids look good. It just need some adjustments.(It took a few seconds too long to engage into gear - park to drive, park to reverse or reverse to drive. It also shifted through the gears too quickly)

Will update when I get the car back.

This shop was very friendly and helpful. My 82 300d was not shutting off and the service manager fixed it for almost nothing.
I would not go back there! They screwed me on two cars really bad. One told over a year to repair the damage they did.

I've been to Franks. I stopped in for an estimate for a repair for a exhaust manifold for my '89 Silver Spur. I never got a call back.

My realtor has a 560 and took it to G&G. His words: they want to install a rebuilt transmission because they make more money that way.

I too got burned at Frank's, for some reason they push for the Diagnostic knowing what's the problem is and its not cheap, close to $200 depending on the problem. After my last visit i am not going back and would not recommend it for anyone. Run...

Another resource for Vegas MB shops

Hi guys,

Just wanted to let you know there's a Mercedes-Benz community in Vegas called "Vegas MBZ". We've begun having weekly meets near the In-N-Out (W. Tropicana/Dean Martin) every Wednesday at 9PM. We have members who are both technicians and DIYers who own/work on a wide variety of Mercedes-Benzes.

Join our facebook group for more details at www.facebook.com/groups/vegasmbz
