Longtime lurker here! Wanted to share info on a nice independant shop in Vegas.
Another thumbs up for G&G Autohaus!
Front brakes on my 07 E63 started squealing (not very loudly).
After reading on this forum and others I was dreading the AMG brake job.
G&G put my car up on a rack, and the technician showed me with a flashlight that I still had 50% pads remaining on front brakes (inside and outside pads), and 30% on my rear. The brakes and pads were pretty dusty, and that was probably the source of the squeaking, the tech just recommended I power wash them.
They took a good look at the car while it was there, and recommended new Air Filters (the old ones were pretty dirty, and hadn't been replaced for 3 years), which they replaced for under $40. They also changed my oil, using my own oil and filter, for just $25 labor. (they had a suction machine to remove old oil through the dipstick, it was quick and neat).
Nice, clean shop, and most of all - HONEST.
BTW - this morning had an error light for my third brake light, and my power trunk wouldn't operate. It did the exact same thing under a year ago and the dealer replaced or repaired a wiring harness in the trunk, so I told G&G don't bother with it as the dealer should take care of it (they warranty their repairs for a year I believe). Drove the car straight to the dealer and left it, just got a call. They are going to repair the harness (again!) under warranty. Now here's the kicker, the service rep told me I "needed new rear brake pads, which they would take care of for $800".
Needless to say, I declined the $800 rear brake pad job, and when my car REALLY needs brakes, I will be taking it back to G&G!
