Case in point, our E320 developed a leak in the sunroof, MB Huntsville wanted $650 to investigate the leak, plus more to fix. At the same time our BMW 550i developed the same issue. BMW dealer diagnosed and fixed for $240. I see more BMWs in our future if we stay in this town!
Unfortunately, I was snubbed by Scott Wallace 3 times concerning transfer case fluid change on the W220. Never got a price from the guy.

If people say service took a nose dive after Landers McClarty took it over, it has to be really bad because it really sucked before.

That's odd, never had a problem with Scott. He has always been nothing but great help when I take my car in for service. Case in point, the motor mounts I had replaced 14 months ago were failing already (price quoted above). Scott had MBUSA to cover under warranty though they were 2 months out of warranty. The service advisers can be hard to get in touch with, Scott gave his personal cell phone so I can get in touch with him when ever I need to. I still recommend Scott!

Do you guys know if any of these garages in Huntsville (Aarons, Ashley, or South Side) still work on the old w123 diesels? I'm pretty close to bringing one home, and wanted to see if anyone around here worked on them.

Thanks,

Joe

Update

Just for the group's information:

Aaron's Automotive is getting out of the German car business. They are no longer working on Mercedes or BMW per the gentleman I talked to yesterday.

I used southside this morning. 105$ hr for labor, they installed front track rod bushings in my sd. Hour and halve charge fair I think. I will reccomend them. Mike the lead mechanic is very knowlegable on the 126 as well as the other chassis.

Paul,
I would talk to Mike, when I was in there he told me they had just purchased a 20,000$ diagnostic machine.

Are there any current recommendations for shops/mechanics around Huntsville who know their way around a GL350 Bluetec. We just picked up a CPO and while I don't foresee needing any services for a bit, it would be good to have a go-to if necessary.

Also, any feedback on the local dealership's service dept. as of lately? We bought the vehicle out of state.
