I second the nomination of Schroeder's in McKinney. Finally found my trusted mechanics, Roy and Mariyan there (and new to me, Wilson). For good reason, they had left Overseas Auto Haus after new management. So had I, as a customer (don't tell me you checked something and didn't).
Went to Schroeder's last Friday and they saved me a ton on a convertible top quirk; few people even know what they're doing with those.
How good are they? Overseas is 1 mile from me, Roy and the gang are 30. That's where I'll be going from now on.

An update on the whereabouts of my favorite mechanics. Roy and Marjan have moved back to Overseas Car Care thanks to new management there.

Anyone here know European Motorcars LTD in Fort Worth?

They have a bunch of Mercedes for sale, and a couple other Euro's, as well as a service shop.

i had a HORRIBLE experience with their repair shop....had my car misdiagnosed 3 times due to check engine light, and had to pay for each diagnostic plus the unnecessary parts. then after the third time, they pretty much just said dont come back, nor would they refund any of my money..... i ended up searching the fault code online, and found that it was only a mass air flow meter. i replaced it myself, and problem solved. horrible customer service and the owner is just out to collect your hard earned money. STAY AWAY!!! i did a quick search online and it looks like he hid bad reviews on Yelp under "filtered reviews"

Plating Services

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to give a shout out for a local plating company that I just did some business with.

I had my OEM rotors for my Mercedes SLK55 AMG zinc plated and they did an awesome job. They only charged me $45.00

If you have anything that needs to be plated give them a call.

The OEM rotors come from the factory with a cold galvanizing spray coating on them which does not hold up all that well and eventually starts to rust through. Now they are fully protected

Here is the company info:

Gleco Plating
2220 Grisham Dr. Rowlett, TX 75088
Phone: 972.475.4300

Ask for Mike Ray, the general manager.

Here are some before and after photos:

Always pay with a CREDIT (not debit) card so that you can file a chargeback dispute. Also report them to BBB.
