Hi all! Somebody mentioned 4Mercedes in Oakland park. Just took the car (CL500 04) from them after they performed service. I dropped the car on thursday and mileage was 53931 and the tank was half full. On friday Marco (CEO and also mechanic - german guy) called me and said that the car still not ready and some parts will be available only monday morning. I said that's fine and waited till monday. Monday afternoon I received a call from him and went to pick up the car. Looks like everything works fine but for whatever reason my tank is empty and my odometer is 54300!!! Moreover I found admissions to one of the clubs in Miami under driver's seat. I haven't yet ask him what happened and how did it all happened, but going to tomorrow (tuesday). Don't even know how to react in this situation...

Pompano Beach Shop

I have used Auto Tech and Body for the past 3 years. They are very professional, price fair, will rent you a car 25.99 a day and have a wonderful diesel Mechanic as well as they do all dealer work on newer MB auto's. I have a 1980 300SD and they are rebuilding my 1973 220D. This shop also does everything Mechanical, Electric, Paint and Body work.
Just north of Atlantic on Dixie hwy.http://www.benzworld.org/forums/imag...s/thumbsup.gif

I can recommend The Auto Repair Store - theautorepairstore.com in Hallandale Beach.
202 NW 2nd Street, Hallandale Beach FL 33009. Right off of I-95, head east on Hallandale Beach Boulevard and make a left on NW 2nd St.

It's a one-man shop* run by a guy named Cory whom I've been acquainted with for the past six or seven years. He's always serviced Mercedes, and when I got my E320, I finally had a chance to use his services. I had to get a shift interlock seal replaced today, and he did the job in a reasonable amount of time, considering his workload, and the price was fair. Open and honest about each step, even showing me the faulty seal, and he guarantees his work for six months. Learned a lot too along the way. Was even nice enough to fix my faulty brake light at no extra charge. W210 owners know what I'm talking about, where the tail light lights up, but it doesn't "brighten" for braking. Fixed it in about two minutes. And my car was cleaner when I got it back too.

He worked for MB Miami for quite a long time (30 years) before branching out on his own, so he has the background. He also handles general service on other makes too. Tell him Dan (me) sent ya.

* It's a one-man shop but he is as of this date looking for a qualified assistant. Contact him via the website if you're interested.

Are any of these shops one you would recommend for a thorough PPI on an R107? I am looking for someone who knows all of the trouble spots and potential pitfalls of these cars. Thanks.

This is the shop I had my sport suspension installed in. They do a WONDERFUL, AMAZING job, and more importantly, have earned my complete trust in the work that they do.

I cannot tell you how much higher I have to recommend a shop that makes a mistake, immediately notifies you of the mistake and the steps they are taking to fix it. It means more to me then a shop that never seems to have made a mistake.

One of the technicians accidentally stripped the threads on the rebound rod on one of the shocks I gave them to put on. My parents met in a repair shop, Mom worked in parts, Dad was a mechanic. I know these things can happen under the BEST of circumstances. We are all fallable humans, and sometimes things happen, you cannot have perfection all the time.

What price can you put on complete honesty? Can you name a mechanic and shop you can really, I MEAN REALLY, completely trust to tell you the truth no matter how it makes them look?

Independently I have met up with people at the Porsche events who swear by David and Motronix. It is a repair shop you can take your car to, and when they tell you it's fixed, it is race track tight, nothing will go wrong, surely fixed!

When my factory warranty runs out, you can be sure of where my car will be going.

Oh one more thing. After the replacement shock was put on I noticed the steering feel went numb like it felt with the non-sport suspension. It seems Mercedes now substitutes a "better" replacement part for the sport shock, and they sent him the different one, which looks exactly the same as the original sport shock.

David, amazingly, went above and beyond, AGAIN! First off he spent a couple of days trying to find "new, old-stock" of the shock, even trying to get one from a warehouse in Puerto Rico that said they had it. After that turned bust, he sent out the thread damaged original sport shock to a high end metalurgist and had the threads repaired to meet Mercedes' specifications.

He took the car back in, took the new shock he bought out, and put the fixed one in to make sure I was happy with the total package. How is THAT for going the extra mile for making a customer COMPLETLEY satisfied?

Motronix, is such a rare shop. Completely honest and trustworthy, they take such pride in their work, they treat your car like you would—like an obsessed fanatic!

Now, I wonder how he feels about Cadillacs!

Brother, You have NO IDEA how happy you just made me. I am in the Process of purchasing a 1997 SL600 and I live here in Boca Raton and no way I would go to a Stealership. So Im definitely going to check this place out.
