Huber's Imported Car Service is a great place just west of Minneapolis in Golden Valley, MN. Mr. Huber immigrated to the U.S. in the early 60s, his sons work with him at the garage as well.

900 Pennsylvania Ave S, Golden Valley, MN 55426

The first time I went there I was surprised at what I saw. An old 190SL from the fifties, but most interesting was an alloy bodied 300SL Gullwing, one of only 29 ever made.

Of course most their business looks to be late model Mercedes-Benz models. Most everything was 20 years old or newer. I've taken my 560 SEC there.

Solid, reliable service, fair prices.

Good call, I've known and dealt with them for many years -- good people.

Alexander's Import Auto

Alexanders at 2904 E 35th St in South Minneapolis (612-729-2516) has serviced my Saabs for over 20 years. Back in the late 80's I got what I call my $1,000 tune up at 30k miles at the dealer. This just seemed high, so I went around to all the repair shops in the area, showed them the work order and asked what they thought. I went to place after place and they all said the same thing--those dealers just rip you off, bring your car here, we'll take care of you etc. I walked into Alexanders and Mike smiled at me, took the work receipt, put on his reading glasses and studied it silently for several minutes. He then said something like "I know this seems like a lot of money, but they really did a lot of work here." He then went thru the bill line by line, explained what they did, why they did it and why it cost that much. After several minutes he handed the bill back and said "Countryside really does great work". Without knowing what I was looking for I had found it--someone who will not BS me. They have been great with my Saabs and friends VWs but I wasn't sure about mercedes until I asked. They have the Star Tech (sp) tool to read computer codes and work on mercedes regularly. There has been another mercedes there each of the last 3 times I have been in. I have trusted them with my Saabs, and now trust them with my c280

Thumbs up Huber's Imported Car Service - I was impressed

I was a recent visitor to Mpls. and had a problem with my cruise control on my '95 E300 diesel. I called the dealer and several other mechanics which were rated highly by the "Reader" and on other web sites. Those guys were useless. Many did not know of the long hiatus in importing diesels after 1995 and said they "only worked on post 1997 diesels." I guess that means they only work on the Blu-Tecs, which would all still be under warranty. Anyway, Mr. Huber correctly diagnosed my problem and directed me to an after-market parts supplier after MB could not ship the part from Chicago before my departure. This guy knows his stuff! We had a long talk about the state of diesels (my first was an '84 300TD) and he was a wealth of info. I was very impressed. I lived in PA for a while and drove to NH for the only MB diesel mechanic I trusted. I guess I will be driving to Mpls. now.

Huber's, Nice people, Had my 2005 320 CDI there for a oil leak. They figured out that it was the oil filter gasket. Saved me big bucks over replacing timing chain gasket. Thats where I take my Mercedes.

Huber import auto repair

These guys are first rate. I took my 95 E300D there with a fuel leak. They fixed that with parts on hand. Then proceeded to repair any number of small things neglected by the people I've had do maintenance in the past. Skid plate bolts & washers and a few other minor things.
Although these guys are 180 miles from where I live I'll be making other appointments with them in the future.

These guys drive `em and work on `em! nuff said!

Foreign Affairs on Excelsior in Hopkins. Great guys, know their MB stuff and are really reasonably priced. They will even let you bring your own parts in.
