I bought a 91 300 sel a few months ago that had a number of relatively minor problems that needed attention. Climate control wasn't working properly. Turned out to be a common problem (mono-valve). The AC worked great, but the heat was weak, and it was not being directed down into the footwell. (not good with Minnesota winter on its way) Odometer stopped working, so instrument cluster had to be pulled and sent to a re-builder. Also the windshield washer was a tangled mess of disconnected hoses, thermostat replacement, rad flush and re & re front and rear flex disks. This is my first MB and I wanted to find a mechanic close to work so that I could drop it off and pick it up easily, who was reliable and got it right the first time. I took it to Northtown Auto Imports (8301 University Ave NE, Spring Lake Park, MN). It took them a while to track down the climate control issue, because in addition to the mono valve, the last person to work on it got some of the vaccumm lines crossed up. Its a father/son operation and their hourly rate is $70. Overall I was pleased with the service and results. They were definitely comfortable working with my older Mercedes and had many of the usual maintenance parts on hand. I'd have no problem taking the car there again.
