I've used Donoso Auto Repair a time or two in Laurel on Route 1. Great guy who runs it. He's gone out of his way regarding my lower control arm ball joint which I haven't dealt with yet but I'm probably just going to take it to him and let him deal with it lol.

When I had him do my glow plugs, motor mounts and valve timing, all that ran me $400. He actually did the job right even though it meant I had to wait. He told me he needed to find his GP hole reamers and not to bring it in until he either found them or bought a new pair. He also didn't freak out when I brought in my own parts.

Great guy and great shop. Heck, he even let me pick stuff off a gen2 w126 he was taking to the JY.

Parting out a Black/tan interior 1983 300SD

Motor and Trans are great, probably have around 275k, odo was broken for a while. They're yours for the taking in Glen Burnie, MD. Seats are faded but intact. I don't want to see the motor and trans in the JY they've got so much life left! Or $800 takes the whole thing. I drove it as is for 2 years and took it on several road trips. Never a hiccup. Has a lot of new front suspension parts.

Autobahn Pro

This is an easy one! Luis and Scott over at Autobahn Pro service both of my mercedes, my BMW Z3 and my friends 2006 M3. They make sure they get anything they can out of your warranty and are always honest.

They even fixed something on my Z3 which was a problem when I bought it, for FREE!

I used them to replace an intake manifold. Very happy. I wanted to have transmission fluid changed via a pan drop only. Original fluid 141k. They strongly urged me to do nothing out of safety concerns for the transmission, but would do what I asked. I decided against using them as his heart and mind weren't into it. Still need a place to go.

I was referring to Donoso being closed, which is at the top of this thread. I have used Autobahn, but now that Scott left, I go xdealertechs in Columbia.

Question Local Shop that can work on my 86 190E 2.3-16v

Hello,

I'm seeking recommendations from the community to find a good shop/mechanic in the Laurel, MD area (or in a 50 mile radius) that has expertise to work on my '86 16v. I'm not sure if some of the shop previously mentioned in this tread are still operating in my area, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask again.

The car ran fine up until a year ago and then after sitting for about a month it wouldn't start. It's been in the garage since, and from time to time I would change out a few parts believed to be the source of the problem and attempt fire it up. NO LUCK so far! I've so far replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors, and fuel distributor with no success. Good news is fuel is not the issue.. good flow/pressure at the injectors. Plug wires and plugs were also replaced. The engine turns over fine and it attempts to fire up, but that only for a sec. before shutting down. I played around with the AF mixture, but could have likely made it worse. Time to call in a pro!

Since the car is not currently running, it will have to be towed to local shop to be diagnosed and fixed. I'm looking for any shops in the immediate area that has experience working on these cars. Grateful for any suggestions you might have! THANKS!
