Benchmark Motors in Columbia, Maryland has done wonderful work on my many Benz's over the years. Their approach is customer first and they will work to repair your baby in the most efficient manner without compromising on reliability or safety. Honest, competent, and reasonably priced, I can highly recommend them.

how much do they charge for scheduled service? have you had any service done on your benz. I just moved to the area and looking for a good and inexpensive independent dealership and not a stealership.

My former fleet (89 300 STE, 90 300 4Matic, 87 500 SEL) and my remaining 99 E320 4Matic were all over 50k when I acquired them, so I don't recall if I ever had them do an official service. I typically do my own oil, brakes, and filter stuff. But they are the best I've found, quick, and able to fix even the most ridiculously complex (and maintenance-wise the absolute worst) all wheel drive ever invented (the 1990 version).

You just can't go wrong with these folks.

From my faulty memory:
1988 580 SEL: engine mounts, exhaust resonator replacement (welded the original muffler back in place), front control arms (whatever they're called), tires, brakes
1989 300E: brakes, various sensors, front main engine seal, drive shaft damper disks, exhaust system, belt, etc.
1990 300 4Matic: AWD sensors, front drive shafts, steering shock
1999 E320 4Matic: Crank position sensor, front drive shafts (boots fail), sunroof, transmission linkage, brakes
