Can a way to skip a thread be installed?

If I can't have my button, could someone at least please put « Previous Thread | Next Thread »
links at the TOP of the thread so I can skip along to the next thread?

Is that so difficult to do?

This link is already located at the bottom of the thread. Why not put one at the top, also? Then, when navigating using the "Next Thread" feature, I can move on quickly if I am dumped into a thread in which I have no interest without having to scroll through up to 40 (sometimes VERY long) posts.
