benzworld popups

This site is now using popup advertising. I'm a little pissed about it. I let popups through on a site like this on good faith so I can get IM notifications. Anyone else annoyed?

My Firefox pop up blocker whines about them on here every now and then. Works fine with PM notices.

I'm kinda pissed that they have resorted to that kind of advertising butlike I said, my blocker takes care of them and its their site to advertise how they want. All I see is a little yellow bar to let me know I was hit with unwanted windows.

yeah IE7 catches most of 'em but occasionally one slips by. it's an annoyance more than anything else. the advertising on this site is getting bigger and uglier and lamer by the day.

I agree with you ducatipaso, Using pop-ups is something that will definitely lose forum members, because some who don't have pop-up blockers will get very annoyed, and migrate to other forums. I too am using Internet Explorer 7, and I got a pop-up just now. I strongly believe that pop-ups will not be beneficial to the site, even considering the cost of maintenance for the site.

Administrator, please try and get rid of pop-ups for this site, there is no doubt in my mind that it will hurt the site, and drive away some very knowledgeable members.

The advertising banner at the top of the page is fine, but pop-ups are pretty annoying.......

I will notify the Administrator about the popups. All of the ads on Benzworld come through a third party supplier and occassionally undersirable ads come through. We work hard to make this a place that you can enjoy and will want to continue to visit, and I hope you'll bear with us as we sort this out.

Cheers!
Chris
